Grassmarket Glistens while Edinburgh shivers

Edinburgh's Grassmarket does not often enjoy much time in the limelight in a city which seems to be constantly celebrating or promoting something, from Films to Books to the Arts.

There are various Christmas Markets currently being held in the city, including a Traditional Christmas German Market.

The Edinburgh Grassmarket is hosting a market called 'Glisten in the Grassmarket' which is designed to allow Scottish producers to sell their handcrafted and produced wares to the public.

According to the official Grassmarket Traders' Association
website products on display and for sale include: "a full range of homewares, textiles, painting, fine art, clothing, furniture, classy craft, secondhand vinyl and many other gifts all with a vintage and recycled slant."

Stallholders at 'Glisten in the Grassmarket' will be open for business from 11am until 6pm until Tuesday, December 22.

If you're in Edinburgh and intend to try and pick up a pressie, that is that little bit different, from the Grassmarket wrap up warm, the BBC predicts that the maximum temperature in the Scottish capital will be two degrees Celsius with a high of minus one degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
