London attractions' pulling power undimmed
The British Museum stands top of the podium with nearly six million visitors in 2008, an increase of 9.5 % on the previous year. The Tate Modern bagged second spot with 4,862,581 visitors last year and the National Gallery took bronze with 4,382,614 visitors. It's no surprise that London has such a huge draw, what with so many of its buildings being free to walk around. Sure you will pay two times the price for a big mac there, but when you're "saving" twenty dollars by not having to pay to see the museum, it all works out for the best.
