What have you done today to make you feel proud?
So the lyric from the M People song goes. The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, continues to make us all feel proud with his selfless acts. On the 64th anniversary of the D Day landings (6th June) the Archbishop made a parachute jump in aid of the Afghanistan Trust which helps the families of British servicemen from the 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment, injured or killed in the conflict in that country. So far Dr Sentamu has raised £50,000 for the Trust.Dr Sentamu has grabbed headlines before in a bid to draw attention to causes close to his heart. Dr Sentamu was the first black archbishop in Britain, and, with any luck, he will be the first black Archbishop of Canterbury.
